Finally have WiFi so I should be able to post these a little bit more frequently. Will try to get them done daily but highly unlikely!
Okay so yesterday half of us were basically dead in the morning. Either due to injury or illness. Not a great start so decided to leave the lessons for the day and do some practice runs with my aunt and uncle. Which was actually a huge help. Managed to do my first proper blue run in Ischgl! I’m hoping to have a video of me doing it up within the next couple of days, didn’t wear my camera yesterday unfortunately and today isn’t looking like a good ski day.
The run is pretty simple but having not done that much skiing the first run resulted in me falling over three or four times. Always on left turns, as apparently my technique turning left is terrible. My sister and brother in law emerged a little bit later on and thankfully, to my surprise, were able to ski.
After a few nursery slope runs me, Mark and my uncle decided to try the blue again. Mark took it slowly, made sure he had plenty of control. Naturally I didn’t. I got to a faster bit and over rotated on a turn. I basically rolled to a stop with my skis in the air. Snow everywhere. I couldn’t stop laughing, not sure if I was just genuinely amused at the hilarity of the fall or relief to have not broken anything. Should have taken my camera!
Apparently though as my skis stayed on it doesn’t count as a fall….
After that we came back in had some food and a beer, then went for a walk round the town.
