One of the observations I’ve made, especially over the last few weeks, is how the language you use can be a massive betrayal of your current situation and the situation you are used to finding yourself in. When meeting new people and telling stories about my life, most of which have happened in the last 9 years, I find myself using a word which no longer applies “We”. It’s such a small word but it carries with it an understanding that you are part of a collective. The used of the term “we” invites a logical question of “who is we”. When you now realise that that word no longer applies to you or your current situation it is embarrassing to have to explain your use.
Right so, I’ve not updated you in freakin’ ages but there is an incredibly valid reason. Holy shit I’ve had a busy couple of months. Right where the fuck do I even start. Okay, so super summary: House is sold, I’ve moved out, I’ve moved in, I’ve argued with the courts, I’ve almost being made motorway jam, and I’ve been to F1 Live. Doesn’t sound like a lot but yeah it has been interesting….. Oh, and I found my first grey hair this morning. So not only is the level of stress I’ve been under being making my hair fall out, it has also been making it turn grey. Yay!
This morning, after a rough night, I decided to take breakfast with a view. Although I live only a stones throw away from the beacons I haven’t ventured up there much. This is in part due to how incredibly busy I’ve been and partially due to not wanting to get attached to a place I am destined to leave. Despite that fear hanging over me I ventured out this morning with my DSLR and Apeman camera. It was a welcome change to living within the four walls that, on occasion, feel like my own private cell.
Normally I’m an avid listener to The Rough Guides podcast: The Rough Guide to Everywhere. Work has been manic since being back and as a result I took my eye off of the proverbial podcast ball. Since it’s a long weekend this weekend I decided to catch up on that and get the house ready to sell. So after listening to a few No Such Thing As A Fish episodes I listened to the most recent RGtE podcast.
